Crawl Space Encapsulation Caulk
White crawl space encapsulation caulk is used to seal the crawl space wall liner to the foundation wall. This caulk works best if; the crawl space is very wet, the Foundation Seal Tape™ won't stick properly, foundation is made of brick or for inside corners. This caulk requires moisture to cure properly so I will not work well if the foundation walls are dry.
Instructions-
- Apply a pencil size bead to the foundation wall in a straight line, only as far as you can work in a few minutes
- Press on corner of your wall liner into the caulk
- Drill a 1/4" hole through the wall liner and into the foundation wall about 1.5" deep
- Press a Foundation Pins™ through the hole in the wall liner and into the foundation hole until the head is flush
- While holding the wall liner with one hand press another 2-3 feet of wall liner into the caulk and hold it
- Drill another 1/4" hole through the wall liner and foundation wall about 18" down from the first one
- Insert another Foundation Pin™
- Continue applying the crawl space encapsulation caulk along the wall 2-3 feet at a time while installing Foundation Pins™ through the wall liner every 16-18" until the entire wall has barrier
- NOTE* install 2 Foundation Pins™ in each inside and outside corner(one on each wall)
- If properly taped, piers do not need caulk or Foundation Pins™
