Vapor Barrier for A Rocky Crawl Space

Often, the crawl space has gravel or crushed rock on the floor or the soil has natural rock in it. When this is the case a vapor barrier can be damaged by these sharp rocks when it is crawled on to do home maintenance or even to install the vapor barrier. While there are several ways to address this problem, one cost effective way is to install our one step 12 GuardianLiner Rough Soil™. This product give you the penetration protection of our Felt5100™ and the moisture protection from our GuardianLiner™ HS in one product, making installation quick and easy.

The two layer system is made up of- 

1. The top layer is our 12 Mil GuardianLiner® HS 
2. • The 12 Mil GuardianLiner™ HS is a high strength woven vapor barrier for the crawl space used to control moisture in the crawl space. Using strengthened polyethylene ribbons to reinforce 100% of the vapor barriers surface. Read more on this vapor barrier for crawl space
3. The bottom layer is our Felt5100™
4. 1. Our Felt5100™ is made for punctureprotection, water dispersal and aid in soil gas mitigation. Made from a super tough virgin polypropylene, this product will prevent sharp rocks and other objects from penetrating the vapor barrier. 

Features of this vapor barrier for rocky crawl spaces

1. Protection for the vapor barrier and the vapor barrier in one offers a one step installation saving time, wear and tear on the installers and money.
2. The attached Felt5100™ makes soil gas mitigation possible by allowing air flow under the vapor barrier
3. The Felt5100™ wicks puddling water and disperses it to absorbed by drier soil
4. 10" of the sides (long side) is not bonded to allow the separation of layers during overlapping. This feature prevents the Felt5100™ from wicking water toward the tape seam keeping the seam dryer and the Felt5100™ protecting. This feature maintains the protection layer and vapor barrier layer separately at the long side overlap.
5. The bond between the 12 mil GuardianLiner® and the Felt5100™ is kept at a minimum to allow the manual separation of layers on the overlap of the ends (short side). This feature maintains the protection layer and vapor barrier layer separately at the short side overlap.
6. Added antimicrobial to enhance the vapor barriers natural ability to resist mold and mildew.
7. Roll size 12'x50' folded in half and rolled on a 74" cardboard core for easy handling and shipping
